The National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) is the premier cancer research and treatment facility in Singapore and in the region. With cancer accounting for approximately one in three deaths in Singapore, NCCS plays a pivotal role in the holistic care and multidisciplinary-based treatment of cancer patients. There are around 180 nurses, 250 doctors and 200 researchers at NCCS, serving over 130,000 patients a year; close to 70% of the cancer community in Singapore.
Today's Research. Tomorrow's Cure.
NCCS believes that cancer research is a worthwhile enterprise as it paves the way for a cure for cancer tomorrow. The NCC Foundation manages the NCC Research Fund, an endowment fund established in 2005 to serve as the flagship fundraising and grant-making channels of collaborative clinical research projects in the NCCS.
The NCC Research Fund focuses on two levels of funding objectives: i. seeding funds to kick-start emerging research by supporting young clinicians and scientists; ii. bridging funds to sustain the momentum of productivity in our research teams. As innovative medicine requires quality research, clinical research is an arduous undertaking that requires ample philanthropic support and public understanding in order to usher medical breakthroughs for the benefit of the community.
Note: The "NCC Research Fund" is registered under the Charities Act as an Institution of Public Character (IPC) with an independent Board of Trustees. All donations to "NCC Research Fund" are eligible for 2.5 times of tax exemption. |
